The Vocational Department

The Vocational Department at J.L.S.S. welcomes students ages 12 and up. They either come from the Academic Department in our school, or from other schools around us. They come from all the regions of Lebanon. Industrial Mechanics Workshop
Vocational training in J.L.S.S. has four branches:
Electrical Training is a two-year course (B.P.) which starts at grade 7 or higher.
Carpentry is a two-year course (B.P.) which starts at grade 7 or higher.
General Mechanics is a two-year course (B.P.) which starts at grade 8 or higher.
Car Mechanics is a two-years course (B.P.) which starts at grade 8 or higher.
Vocational training at J.L.S.S. offers courses in pneumatics for students in General Mechanics and Car Mechanics. Pneumatics are not taught at this level in other vocational schools in Lebanon.
Theoretical studies in the Vocational Department go side by side with practical training. All trainers in the four branches are also responsible for doing repair work and renovation inside the school campus. In addition, they take projects outside the school that benefit us financially.
Our trainers do their best to help our children and promote our institution.
We also follow up our students after they graduate. All employees of the Vocational Department do their best to  help students find jobs in factories and workshops all over Lebanon.
We are planning to have a permanent showroom inside the campus for selling manufactured items and products of our workshops. This will provide additional income to our school.
The most important development in our vocational department is the incorporation of the Dual System (S.D.) in our program. This included both General and Car Mechanics. This was possible through our cooperation with the GTZ team in Lebanon. S.D courses are three-year courses that start at grade 9.
We currently have 88 students in the Vocational Department (32 boarding and 56 day students).
We are planning to add S.D. Carpentry, B.P. Hair-dressing & Cosmetics, and B.P. Fashion Design & Sewing in the near future.
