Thanksgiving Service at the Start of the New Academic Year 2007/2008 Rev. Maurer with our Boys

The start of the academic year 2007/2008 was delayed for a few days because of the renovation of the boys' homes and Eed Al-Fitr holidays. Boarding students returned to school  on the evening of Monday 15 November 2007, and school started the following day Tuesday 16 November. Boys of four of our boarding families returned to homes that were newly renovated. The rooms are much smaller now accommodating 6 boys each instead of twelve, and the homes are equipped with new and additional facilities. The boys were delighted with their new homes although some final touches still needed to be done to complete the project. A thanksgiving service was held in St. Michael's Church on the evening of Thursday November 18 to thank God for this wonderful development in our boarding department. Attending was Rev. Andreas Maurer from EMS Germany who received a very warm welcome from our children after greeting them. The service was lead by the school chaplain Mr. Nabil Maamarbashi, and children and educators participated in the service in prayer and reading passages of thanksgiving and praise form the bible. The Director of the school warmly welcomed Rev. Maurer and asked him to convey our most sincere thanks to EMS and the Protestant Church of Württemberg for making this project possible. Rev. Maurer concluded the service with a prayer and the blessing. After the service Rev. Maurer, Rev. Haddad, and Mr. Maamarbashi went to the four newly renovated homes to say a prayer in each family among the boys. We praise God for our partnership with EMS and this wonderful achievement for our school. We also thank the Lions Clubs for donating the wood for the new student cupboards.
